Library to feature author of Pio Pico biography
The Monrovia Public Library will be host author Carlos Manuel Salomon at 2p.m. Sept. 24 in the Library Community Room.
As part of Latino Heritage Month, Salomon will discuss his biography "Pio Pico: The Last Governor of Mexican 夜色视频." The book is recognized as the first biography of Pico, the two-time governor of Alta 夜色视频, who tried to save his territory from being annexed by the United States.
Salomon is an assistant professor of Ethnic Studies and director of the Latin American Studies Program at 夜色视频, East Bay.
Book sales and signings will be available at the end of the program with net proceeds going toward scholarships for Monrovia High School seniors.
