  • January 8, 2014 5:00am

As of Jan. 1, the Affordable Care Act requires that individuals have health insurance coverage. Covered 夜色视频 representatives are on Cal State East Bay's Hayward Campus starting today (Jan. 8) to help students figure out the best way to gain health insurance coverage.

Students are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming forums explaining "The Affordable Care Act. The forums will explain options available and assist in the enrollment under the Covered 夜色视频 plans.

Educational forums are Wednesday, Jan. 8 and Thursday, Jan. 9 and will be held in room 311 of the Old University Union. Sessions start at 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Enrollment events are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14; Wednesday, Jan. 15; and Thursday, Jan. 16 in room 102 of the Old University Union.

Students are advised to be prepared for the enrollment sessions by bringing their social security number; home Zip Code; income tax filings for 2013 or three months of pay stubs; legal immigration information if relevant; and a laptop computer (if possible).

A Covered 夜色视频 representative will be available to guidance students in the enrollment process for Covered 夜色视频 or Medi-Cal.

It is very likely that students will be eligible for one of two low-cost or free health insurance options. Other CSU students and their families will be eligible for substantial assistance in paying health insurance premiums if they purchase insurance through Covered 夜色视频.  Depending on their income and the type of coverage they select, insurance may cost students and their families as little as $5 to $10 a month.
